Frequently Asked Questions

Are items in the Copper Core collection dishwasher safe?

Yes but the copper band will eventually tarnish; we recommend hand washing and drying the copper band immediately

Is the nonstick surface safe?

The quality of All-Clad cookware eliminates hot spots that can damage nonstick surfaces resulting in burning and flaking off. Further, the nonstick surface does not contain harmful PFOA gases. When nonstick cookware is used and cared for correctly, it poses no threat to people or animals and can be a valuable tool in creating a healthy and well-balanced diet

How do I clean and care for nonstick pans?

-Do not cook on a high heat and never place under a broiler; best results are achieved with on a low or low to medium heat

-Only use wood , silicone or nylon utensils; do not use metal as this can scratch the surface

-Do not use the dishwasher to clean nonstick pans as harsh detergents will corrode and dry out the surface; hand wash using a non-scratch scrubber or sponge; clean any further residue with a mixture of baking soda and water - if the bicarbonate of soda mixture starts turning brown, you are doing it correctly

-Do not use aerosol spray oils as this will result in a sticky buildup of the spray that doesn't burn off during cooking

-You can condition the non-stick surface by wiping a little vegetable oil on the surface with a paper towel; wipe off any excess

Can salt damage my cookware?

Yes. To avoid pitting or small white dots forming, bring liquids to a boil before adding salt; stir well. Alternatively, add salt after food has started to cook. Pitting does not interfere with your pan’s performance but can diminish the beauty of the stainless steel
