Using time-tested techniques, the experienced artisans of Vaidava Ceramics create many of their items by Jiggering, a mechanical process which replicates manual wheel-throwing. This enables them to produce multiple items of the same shape but also allows for the individual nuances in the hand-finishing.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is Vaidava Ceramics tableware microwave- and oven-safe?
Yes. Their pottery is microwave- and oven-safe up to 200°C. Items should be heated slowly and evenly to avoid thermal shock. Use caution with oven use by placing the ceramic piece in a cool oven and do not bring up the oven temperature to over 200°C.
Is Vaidava Ceramics tableware dishwasher-safe?
Yes. Vaidava Ceramics recommend choosing an eco-friendly detergent and avoid using abrasive detergents as they can degrade the items.
Can stains occur on the unglazed surfaces of Vaidava Ceramics tableware?
The outside of Vaidava Ceramics pieces are specially polished, so to close the clay pores. This makes the dishes more durable to moisture and stains than typical unglazed pottery. However, it is advisable to avoid prolonged exposure of the exterior of the dish to oily or colourful foods.
My cutlery has left traces on my ceramic tableware. What do I do?
The ceramic glaze is stronger than soft metals. The traces left by cutlery are simply metal deposits on the glaze, not a change in its structure. To remove this sediment, use a product containing oxalic acid, such as Bar Keepers Friend, or wash thoroughly with the rough side of a dish sponge. Never use a metal scouring pad.
Does Vaidava Ceramics tableware contain any harmful ingredients?
No. No harmful ingredients, including cadmium and lead, are present in their tableware. And, as every piece of Vaidava Ceramics tableware is made right in their factory they can ensure the safety of the materials used. Their product testing is rigorous and they exceed EU safety standards.
Some Vaidava Ceramics dishes do not look exactly alike. Why is that?
Minor irregularities of an item's form, the tone of clay and glaze colour may occur as all of their tableware is handcrafted. And each piece is carefully inspected to ensure that it lives up to their high-quality standards.
