Careers: Full-time Sales Associate, Islington

JOB TITLE: Full-time Sales Associate 
HOURS: 40 hours/week 
LOCATION: Islington, N1
Start Date: Post Lockdown when shops can re-open

Borough Kitchen is looking to hire a Sales Associate (Full-time, including weekends) for our Islington Square shop. The ideal candidate will be outgoing, friendly and passionate about food, while also being able to deliver second-to-none advice and customer service to our customers.

Key Job Components 

  • Providing a customer experience in-store that is second-to-none
  • Greeting all customers, assessing their needs and relaying relevant product knowledge to them with confidence
  • Helping to build a loyal base of return customers, with a focus on long-term relationships rather than one-off transactional selling
  • Discussing and sharing recipes and product information with customers
  • Replenishing inventory and helping management identify selling trends, low stock or stock-outs
  • Care for store standards, including displays and merchandising
  • Ringing through purchases, arranging deliveries and providing after-sales service to customers
  • Cross-selling to customers using available tools, including special orders and our online shop 

 

Key Skills and Characteristics 

  • A genuine passion for cooking and entertaining
  • Experience in a retail environment would be an asset
  • Confidence, excellent communication skills
  • Keen to learn, with the support of in-store training on products and selling skills

 

Requirements

  • Our busiest days of the week are Saturdays and Sundays, so we expect our team to be scheduled on both days
  • You will work on Boxing Day
