Careers: Inventory & Purchasing Coordinator, Islington

We are looking for an Inventory & Purchasing Analyst who is a dynamic and proactive individual with relevant direct experience in retail purchasing, inventory and accounts management. The role provides an opportunity for the right candidate to lead the inventory replenishment for an entrepreneurial, high-growth company.

Working closely with one of the founders and our Buying Director, the successful candidate will report to the Company’s Operations Manager and be part of a small core team, evolving our inventory management to optimise inventory levels and purchasing processes across our four stores and warehouse.

Key areas of responsibility:

  • Develop demand forecasting and manage the flow of information between our stores, marketing, warehouse, cook school and our e-commerce team
  • Optimise inventory levels
  • Place orders and supervise direct-to-store orders
  • Record deliveries received, ensuring accurate inventory recording
  • Provide data/analysis to support decisions on ordering volumes, product discontinuation and all related trading activities, including analysis of sales trends to drive profit
  • Manage logistics, liaise with forwarders and follow up orders while developing strong professional relationships
  • Ensure correct up-to-date pricing and maintain required margins and real-time communication of supplier inventory issues
  • Manage credit/returns for damaged/missing products/deliveries
  • Support Stores and Online for rapid turnaround of special orders/projects
  • Purchase general supplies and packaging for all stores

        Requirements:

        • 3+ years experience in purchasing and demand forecasting using relevant inventory management systems (ideally NetSuite)
        • 3+ years proven role ownership with the ability to manage extensive data/information
        • Qualification in a related field (certificate/diploma/degree) would be beneficial
        • Problem-solving skills, proactiveness, highly organised, diligent, and reliable
        • A can-do attitude paired with attention to detail and strong analytical ability
        • Exceptional computer skills (Excel, G Suite, inventory management and accounting systems)
        • Highly motivated, outstanding communicator and great team player
        • Passion for cooking and entertaining
