JOB TITLE: Marketing & Communications Manager
REPORTING TO: Head of eCommerce
HOURS: 40 hours per week
LOCATION: Islington Square

Borough Kitchen is a London-based cook shop and cook school fuelled by a team that loves to cook. We take pride in selling products of the highest quality, made to last. We believe cooking and dining should be a pleasure, whether it's Christmas or a regular Tuesday night. Our cook school focuses on building skills and learning techniques that students can use long after class ends.

The role will shape, coordinate and execute our omnichannel marketing strategy within a growing, entrepreneurial company for in-store/online campaigns and oversee Social Media and PR. We’re a young company, and we all roll up our sleeves to get a lot done across the entire business. This role requires someone very organised, with strong communication skills and passionate about food and cooking. This person will work with the Head of eCommerce and our founders and manage a team of 2 direct reports.

General Marketing

  • Maintain and realise the Marketing Calendar
  • Implement local area marketing strategies for stores
  • Plan and execute in-season product campaigns and brand projects
  • Work with buying team on brand-focused campaigns
  • Work with store teams to coordinate monthly window and merchandising displays
  • Market the Cook School
  • Oversee graphic design
  • Grow external brand partnerships and relationships
  • Assist the eCommerce team with email marketing campaigns and reporting
  • Assist with planning and execution of seasonal photoshoots

    Social Media

    • Work with the Social Media Coordinator to build a social media strategy that complements the broader activities of the business
    • Oversee the planning of the social media calendar
    • Implement Influencer and Affiliate strategies to grow social following and increase sales
    • Oversee reporting on the performance of our social channels

      PR

      • Manage all PR activities, actively reaching out to publications to generate PR
      • Create and produce events in stores

        Ad hoc

        • Assist with content for the website, such as product descriptions, recipes, emails, etc
        • Support the eCommerce team during peak periods

          The ideal candidate:

          • Has 5+ years of experience in retail marketing
          • Has a passion for cooking and depth of industry knowledge
          • Can adapt strategies in a fast-paced environment
          • Has organised and detail-oriented methods of working
          • Brings ideas, solutions and enthusiasm to every meeting
          • Works well in a team by clearly communicating, helping others when needed, and gives as well as accepts constructive feedback
          • Has experience managing a team
