Bain Maries

A bain marie, also known as a ‘water bath’, is traditionally used in France to make chocolate, hollandaise sauce, terrines or custard, because it heats very gently. A bain marie also makes the best, most creamy slow-cooked scrambled eggs. Water is placed in the lower part of the pan and the ingredients are warmed in the upper pan. We offer beautiful stainless steel and porcelain and copper and porcelain options from Mauviel - the Best of the Best - as well as a larger, professional one by de Buyer.
