In this 90-minute cookalong, we'll teach you the most important set of skills you need for kitchen success: how to use a knife safely and effectively. Take this class once and, as you keep applying these techniques, feel the preparation of food become as exciting as the part where you stir the pan. You'll learn:
- The difference between European and Japanese knives
- How to sharpen and maintain your knives
- How to hold a knife so it’s comfortable and safe
- Tap and rock chopping
By the end of class, you’ll enjoy a restaurant-quality rainbow salad with honey mustard vinaigrette.

This class is suitable for vegetarians, vegans and people with diets avoiding gluten and nuts.
Online classes can accommodate up to 100 students. Each class has an instructor and co-instructor. Students will be placed on mute but can click on the ‘raising hand’ button to be unmuted as soon as possible to ask a question. The co-instructor is available to answer questions at any time via the chat function. You have the option to keep your camera on or off during class.
