Learn how to make Chinese dumplings in this 90-minute online class, which takes place on Zoom. All the details will be sent to you prior to class, including ingredients and substitutions, so you can learn in the comfort of your own kitchen.

In this 90-minute online class, we’ll make Chinese dumplings entirely from scratch. Intimidating, we know! But once we teach you the key techniques, you’ll be able to cook, fill, and pleat your way to perfect dim sum every time, dipping sauce and all.

We’ll cover:

  • How to knead, rest, and prepare dumpling dough
  • Why water temperature matters
  • Filling-to-wrapper ratios
  • How to season dumplings properly
  • Different shaping techniques
  • How to cook dumplings


By the end of class, you’ll make traditional pork and cabbage dumplings with a dipping sauce, with the option to modify for vegetarian, vegan and pork-free diets.

Age Restriction: 16+, but 14- and 15-year-olds can join as long as they are accompanied by an adult who is also taking the class

Online classes can accommodate up to 100 students. Each class has an instructor and co-instructor. Students will be placed on mute but can click on the ‘raising hand’ button to be unmuted as soon as possible to ask a question. The co-instructor is available to answer questions at any time via the chat function. You have the option to keep your camera on or off during class.

Before class, we’ll send you a PDF detailing the ingredients and equipment you'll need (they don’t have to be from us), information on how to join the class, and points on health and safety. Please note the price is per person, not per Zoom screen—i.e., if two members of a household take this class, the total price is £50. All online classes are non-refundable.
