Halfway between a frying pan and saucepan, the Mauviel M’Elite Splayed Saute Pan outperforms standard stainless steel pans by miles because of the way it’s designed. It has outer layers of 18/10 stainless steel, which make it induction-compatible, plus three inner layers of heat-responsive aluminium. The middle layer of that aluminium is pure, meaning there is no adhesive agent in it that slightly weakens its power. High-quality, scratch-resistant steel that’s polished on the outside but brushed on the inside makes clean-up simple, and a curved rim allows easy pouring. It will last a lifetime, guaranteed. M'Elite is a special range from Mauviel that has a hand-hammered finish for beautiful presentation on the table. This curved splayed saute pan includes a domed stainless steel lid.
Mauviel M’Elite pans, including handles, are polished and finished by hand; this may result in minor abrasions or scuffs. These are considered normal and do not have any impact on performance or durability.
While M’Elite pans are dishwasher-safe, please note that dishwasher detergents that contain harsh chemicals such as potassium are abrasive to the aluminium edge on the rims of these pans. This can cause the edge to feel sharp over time but does not affect performance.
Why we love it
'The wider surface area lets you toss small vegetables like Brussels sprouts around the pan, and the smaller base lets you reduce caramelise onions until they are nice and jammy.'
