HORL 3 Cruise Sharpener

Product Details

Made in Germany, the HORL knife sharpeners are foolproof. They sharpen and hone knives in minutes, ensuring every inch of the blade is evenly sharpened. They are gentler than pull-through sharpeners (which shed excessive metal), more precise than honing rods, and significantly faster than whetstones – no guesswork or advanced training needed. Every HORL 3 Cruise sharpener is comprised of two parts: a rolling mechanism affixed with whetstone discs on each end (for sharpening and honing), and a double-sided magnetic angle support which holds the blade at specific angle (20° for Western knives or 15° for Japanese knives). The HORL 3 Cruise has permanently fitted whetstone discs. The sharpening disc is made of enhanced black diamonds, while the honing disc is made of stainless steel. The magnets are ultra-strong, tightly holding knife blades in place so wobbling is at a minimum. HORL worked with Swiss company #tide to design the sandy finish of the HORL 3 Cruise, which is made from recycled plastic found by the sea. This exclusive bundle comes with a HORL Finishing Leather, a leather strop that smooths any metal residue or inconsistencies after the knife sharpening process, resulting in an ultra-refined finish.

Suitable For: All Western knives and some Japanese knives. Due to the stainless steel honing disc, suitable Japanese knives must have a Rockwell hardness score of under 60, such as our Tojiro knives. For harder Japanese knives such as Kai Shun, Miyabi, and Blenheim Forge, we recommend the HORL 3 or HORL 3 Pro sharpener.

HORL products can only be shipped within the UK.

    Why we love it

'HORL has simplified the most important (and overlooked) kitchen task: keeping knife blades sharp. This results in safer and more enjoyable food prep. Their knife sharpeners are engineered in a way that prevents human error, and made with premium materials. Though several companies have tried to mimic HORL's original design, none of them come close to matching their quality and durability.'
