Product Details

Mauviel’s M’Tradition range consists of entirely handcrafted pieces that honour the company’s 200-year history. This copper casserole pot with bronze handles has a beautiful hammered finish and is lined with tin, which is excellent at heat distribution and less prone to sticking than other metals. (As tin is a relatively delicate metal, this pot will need to be re-tinned every 10 years or so, depending on the level of use.) Though a collector’s item, it is practical and made to be used, especially because the thick layer of copper in this pot will ensure food heats rapidly and thoroughly. It is suitable for all hobs except induction and should never be placed in the dishwasher.

Mauviel M'Tradition pans have an outer layer of pure copper that’s soft by nature, and thus prone to scratches and should be handled carefully. They are finished by hand. The pans (including handles) often have minor abrasions, small black marks or scuffs as a result. These are considered normal and do not have any impact on performance and durability.

About The Brand

Since 1830, Mauviel has been making its superior cookware in a Normandy village called Villedieu-les-Poêles, which roughly translates to 'city of pans'. Known the world over by professional chefs and discerning home cooks, Mauviel produces several collections to fit every kitchen, from traditional tin-lined copper to induction-friendly stainless steel cookware that's ideal for induction hobs. The business has remained in the Mauviel family for seven generations, and it employs 70 highly skilled and experienced artisans to make just over 1000 unique products.

From creation to completion, the artistry with which Mauviel produces each piece demonstrates why the brand sits among the top tier of its industry. Thoughtful details like pouring rims and recessed handles, plus how neatly pieces in various ranges stack together, make using their cookware feel enjoyable. Their products are made to last a lifetime.
