This laboratory-grade mortar and pestle from Milton Brook has a dense structural base and long, comfortable beech wood handle for the easy grinding and crushing of herbs and spices. What makes it stand out is the non-porous finish, which prevents stains and odours. This is a result of being fired at a controlled temperature until the clay's microscopic pores are eliminated. The mortar (not pestle) is dishwasher-safe, but it's best to hand-wash both parts with mild detergent. Available in small (11cm diameter x 7.2cm height) and medium (17cm diameter x 9.2cm height).
