Product Details

All-Clad pioneered multi-ply cookware in the 1970s with the d3 (also called TriPly) series, when they layered aluminium—an excellent conductor of heat—with stainless steel, which is excellent at being non-reactive, oven-safe, induction hob-compatible, and extremely durable. This saucepan feels light to lift but is sturdy and warp-resistant, with a comfortable handle that moulds to an underhanded grip and stays cool on the hob. The stainless steel is polished on the outside for a mirror finish and brushed on the inside. Dishwasher use is not recommended.

Why we love it

‘Since the metal is bonded all around the pan, not just on the bottom, it heats quickly and more evenly than a standard pot.’

About The Brand

All-Clad

All-Clad was founded John Ulam, a renowned metallurgist whose inventions transformed the automobile, aerospace, and mint coin industries. An avid home cook, he applied his knowledge of bonding metals with very different properties, such as stainless steel and aluminium, together to make pans. The result was cookware that cooked food more evenly, was easy to clean, didn’t alter flavours, and didn’t tarnish or warp. So when All-Clad opened the doors to their Canonsburg, Pennsylvania factory in 1971, cookware was yet another industry he transformed.
