Benriner invented the Japanese mandoline, and have manufactured it since 1945. The Benriner Super Slicer Mandoline is a wider model than the standard Benriner slicer, with a 9.5cm-wide cutting surface. It is a great tool for preparing onions, potatoes, radishes, cucumbers, carrots and apples for stir-fries, salads and garnishes that you will find yourself reaching for again and again. It features a standard flat blade that can adjust from 0.3-4mm and 3 additional interchangeable blades to produce fine, medium and coarse shreds. It comes with a finger guard, which must be used for safety; we also recommend using a cut-resistant glove. It is compact and easy to store.
Why we love it
'A mainstay in restaurant kitchens that home cooks are increasingly turning to for precise, consistent slicing, which not only looks nice, but results in a more evenly cooked or prepared dish too.'
