Product Details
Since 1892, French heritage brand Bérard has specialized in creating beautiful wooden products for the kitchen and table. Formulated to extend the life of your kitchenware, the Bérard Wood Butter combines natural beeswax and food-grade mineral oils to provide a deep, protective layer for all types of wood. Regular washing inevitably strips wood of its natural hydration, but applying this rich butter seals out unwanted moisture, prevents drying and splitting, and restores a brilliant satin sheen. It is an essential maintenance tool for items that frequently come into contact with water, such as heavy-duty chopping blocks, salad bowls, rolling pins, and unvarnished wooden utensils.
How to use: Ensure the wooden item is completely clean and dry. Using a soft cloth, rub a small amount of wood butter across all sides of the surface, following the direction of the grain. Allow it to absorb, then buff with a clean cloth to reveal a restored shine. For more information on wooden board care, read our guide here.
Why we love it
'This nourishing butter penetrates the wood fibres to combat dryness from the inside out, preventing your favourite boards and utensils from splitting or cracking. The addition of natural beeswax creates a superior water-resistant barrier, making it perfect for items exposed to frequent washing, like chopping boards.'

About The Brand
Berard France
Based in the Drôme region of southern France, Berard has specialised in olivewood and Mediterranean wood products since 1892. Olive and other hardwood trees are individually selected to ensure strength and durability before the creation of products, always from branches that are removed as part of the standard pruning and maintenance cycle rather than cut or uprooted. Production takes place in local workshops across Italy, France, Spain, Albania and Tunisia—as close as possible to the source of the wood in order to minimise the carbon footprint and environmental impact.Shop Berard France
