Product Details
Located in a small workshop under an archway in South London, Blenheim Forge is a jewel in Britain’s culinary landscape, beloved by chefs like Gordon Ramsey and Francis Mallmann. We collaborated on a collection of knives made with a core of Japanese super blue carbon steel—known for its long-lasting durability and unparalleled sharpness—clad with rust-proof stainless steel up to the edge of the blade for easier maintenance. It is notoriously difficult to forge super blue carbon steel, but Blenheim Forge has mastered it with their skill and attention to detail. Every knife has a comfortable, six-sided walnut handle that feels stable to hold and provides balance, attached with a beautiful copper ferrule. The wood is sustainably sourced from fallen trees in the M25 area by an enterprise that teaches joinery and furniture making to unemployed youth.
This Bread Knife features a thin, stainless-clad blade and broad waved serrations that pierce cleanly through hard crusts and cut through softer bread with minimal tearing. The blade geometry and serration pattern have been refined specifically to make it cut better and stay sharp for years. Forged from a springy laminated construction, the blade is clad in multiple layers of low-carbon and spring steel to create a hard, long-lasting cutting edge supported by tougher, more flexible outer layers. This results in a bread knife with a durable edge and flowing serrations that glide rather than tear through everything from crusty loaves to delicate pastries.
Why we love it
‘Anytime chefs walk into one of our stores, they beeline for these knives. It has what they love about carbon steel—the extremely fine cuts, how easy it is to sharpen—but requires less fuss.’Specifications & Care

About The Brand
Blenheim Forge
Blenheim Forge began as a hobby amongst friends who spent years creating and fine-tuning the process of making Japanese-style carbon steel knives, which have harder steel and sharper blades than Western-style knives. Their knives are now celebrated by chefs like Gordon Ramsey, Mark Hix and Argentinian barbecue legend Francis Mallman. Every knife is hand-made with the highest degree of detail and precision in their Peckham-based forgery, where they give back to the local community by sourcing wood from a charitable company that teaches furniture-making skills to disadvantaged youth.
