This practical, hands-on class teaches the ABC’s of making fresh, gluten-free pasta from scratch. You'll learn the specialised skills and techniques behind kneading, rolling, and shaping wheat-free pasta, plus how to pair your pasta with the right sauce. Our goal is to ensure you leave class with the confidence to build on these skills at home. In class we will:
- Shape gluten-free egg pasta in long and short shapes (tagliatelle, pappardelle, cavatelli)
- Infuse pasta with natural colour (beetroot)
- Prepare spinach and ricotta gnudi (AKA ‘naked pasta’)
- Cook both tomato and dairy-based sauces
At the end of class you’ll get to enjoy everything you’ve made and have plenty of leftovers to take home, alongside skills that will last a lifetime.
Please note: We do not operate a 100% gluten-free classroom.
Age Restriction: 16+. 14 and 15-year-olds are welcome to attend this class as long as they are accompanied by an adult who is also taking the class.
Think this class would make a perfect gift? We do too—that's why we offer Cook School Gift Cards, for one or two guests, in paper and digital formats. That allows your giftee to decide the class, time, and location, as well as let us know about any dietary preferences or allergens.
Diets & Allergens: This class can be adapted to vegetarian and nut-free diets. Please provide details on any diets or allergies, especially dairy intolerances, in the Allergen & Dietary Restrictions field at checkout or by emailing cookschool@boroughkitchen.com, so we can best accommodate you. A complete list of the allergens in our cook school classes can be seen on this allergen matrix.
Accessibility: Our Battersea Cook School can be adapted for wheelchair users. Please contact our customer service team at online@borougkitchen.com to discuss your needs, so that we can assist with the booking process.
Cancellation Policy: You must notify our customer service team via LiveChat, email (cookschool@boroughkitchen.com) or phone (020 7043 1478) 10 full business days before your scheduled class to get a refund. You can transfer your seat to a different date or class if you notify us 5 full business days before your scheduled class. Any changes made within 5 full business days of the class cannot be accepted. Due to our small class sizes and to avoid increases in our ticket prices, there are no exceptions to this policy, including illness or any other reason. However, you are welcome to transfer your tickets to any friends or family who can go in your place. For our full T&C's, click here.
Note: Due to rising costs of operation, we are increasing the price of our 2024 classes to £125 per seat. This allows us to maintain our standards for sourcing high-quality ingredients, as well as fairly compensating our cook school team. If you have an existing £115 or £230 cook school voucher, it can be redeemed for any scheduled cook school class without extra charge – this class must be booked before 15 April 2024. Cook school gift cards valued at other amounts can be redeemed at their face value.
To book, email online@boroughkitchen.com with the voucher number, as well as the class, location and date you would like to attend. Please include allergens and dietary restrictions. You can also email us at this address if you have any Borough Kitchen gift cards that are unused but expired – we will reinstate the card for you.
