Product Details

An interchangeable disc that affixes to the rolling mechanism of any HORL 3 or HORL 3 Pro knife sharpener, this extra-coarse diamond whetstone disc is more abrasive than the standard diamond disc that comes with HORL sharpeners. It is an additional disc that is best suited to extremely blunt or damaged blades, and should be used with care, very sparingly. If using this disc, it must be used before the standard HORL ceramic disc (included in every HORL sharpener), and should be followed up with the standard sharpening and honing discs. To use, simply twist off an existing disc from a compatible HORL 3 roller, replace it with this one, and stroke the knife blade against the disc until you achieve a desirable level of sharpness. (Read our guide on how to check the sharpness of a knife blade.) The disc can be used without water. Please note that the first few times the diamond grinding side is used, excess diamond particles may flake off. After a few applications, the grinding surface stabilises. Not compatible with HORL 2 sharpeners or accessories.

To purchase this disc along with the HORL rolling knife sharpener, consider our exclusive Ultimate HORL sharpening sets.

Note: HORL products can only be shipped within the UK.

Why we love it

'While the standard HORL discs are excellent for sharpening knives, these additional coarse ceramic whetstone discs quickly grind extremely blunt or damaged blades to correct dull or chipped knives.'
