Product Details

If you want to achieve the perfect level of sharpness on a knife, this set will do the trick. It features two interchangeable discs that affix to the roller of the HORL 2 or HORL 2 Pro knife sharpeners (not the HORL 2 Cruise). These discs are #3000 and #6000 grit, designed to be used on sharp Western and Japanese knives to refine their blades. To use, simply unscrew an existing disc on an applicable HORL 2 sharpener and replace with this one. (Please ensure your knife is already sharpened and honed before using the corundum stone, as it is meant to refine an edge of a sharp blade rather than sharpen.) The compact size, in comparison to a high-grit whetstone, makes it easy to store. Use the leather strop at the last stage of the process. Made of vegetable-tanned cowhide, it frees the blade from all grinding residue and provides a professional finish.

Why we love it

'The HORL 2 seems almost too good to be true—quick, neat, effective. But it is! While whetstones take time and practice to master, the HORL 2 does not. It’s like having the ease, speed and definition of a pull-through sharpener, but the versatility and relative gentleness of a whetstone.'
