The Mauviel M'Cook Frying Pan is no ordinary pan—and the added value of PFOA-free non-stick coating makes it even more remarkable. The pan is made of five layers of metal (two layers of stainless steel on the outside, three layers of heat-responsive aluminium in the centre), which extend to the sides and tops of the pans to ensure even heat distribution. Suitable on all hobs including induction, the M’Cook range’s comfortable, stay-cool handles and curved rims allow easy manoeuvring and pouring. The pan is oven safe up to 250°C. All that plus three layers of Excalibur+ coating, which is free of harmful chemicals and made to withstand the pressure of daily use, make it easy to clean and perfect for cling-prone foods like eggs, seafood, and pancakes, with or without oil. Designed with small European kitchens in mind, pieces in the M’Cook range stack together neatly.
Do bear in mind that non-stick coatings are not built to withstand high levels of heat. As with any other non-stick pan, avoid cooking over a medium-high setting. Fortunately, M’Cook pans respond to heat so well that there’s no need to go any hotter than that, and because the coating is bonded with stainless steel, this pan is more scratch-resistant than other non-sticks. (For more on non-stick pan care, read our guide.)
Mauviel M’Cook pans, including handles, are polished and finished by hand; this may result in minor abrasions or scuffs. These are considered normal and do not have any impact on performance or durability.
While M’Cook pans are dishwasher-safe, please note that dishwasher detergents that contain harsh chemicals such as potassium are abrasive to the aluminium edge on the rims of these pans. This can cause the edge to feel sharp over time, but does not affect performance.
Why we love it‘It’s very rare that non-stick pans can brown food at a medium hob setting, but this one does.’
