This Opinel Butter Knife (6.5cm) has a paddle shape for quickly and evenly spreading a variety of condiments on toast, from butter to pâté. The blade is forged from martensitic stainless steel, which has a high hardness due to the addition of nitrogen (0.15%) and superior corrosion resistance due to its high chromium content (16%). The light beechwood handle has been covered in a protective varnish for moisture resistance.

About The Brand
Joseph Opinel began producing knives in a French town called Saint-Jean-de-Maurienne in 1890. By the early 20th century, Opinel had already become a household name—one that is synonymous with exceptionally practical knives for everyday and specialist kitchen use. Today the company is run by Joseph Opinel’s great grandsons, and all their products are still made in France. Featuring natural wooden handles, precision-shaped blades, and signature safety locking mechanisms, these knives are crafted for a lifetime of daily use.Shop Opinel
