Product Details
Skeppshult have crafted hand-forged cookware in Sweden since 1906. Made from entirely natural iron, each handmade piece is completely unique, only gets better with time and use, and is built to last a lifetime. This Skeppshult Cast Iron Grill Pan has a thick 5mm base for even heat conduction, and raised ridges that create sear marks and allow fat to drain away. This makes it ideal for grilling meats, vegetables, or cheeses like halloumi on the hob with a chargrilled finish. Featuring a walnut handle that's exclusive to Borough Kitchen in the UK, the handle stays cool during cooking, making the pan easier to manoeuvre. The wooden handle can be removed by unscrewing the eyelet at the end of the handle, and replaced in the same way. (Wooden handles are not compatible in the oven.) Made from high-quality solid cast iron, the texture of the pan is very coarse, which promotes excellent caramelisation and helps food to release better. It is compatible with all hobs, including induction, as well as the barbecue. It can only be used in the oven if the wooden handle is removed, and it also features a cast iron lip that acts as a support handle. Pre-seasoned with organic canola oil, the natural non-stick surface gets better with age.
Why we love it
'The caramelisation from this pan is excellent, and the handle genuinely stays cool while cooking.'
