Every detail of this Sourhouse Starter Jar is designed to promote a healthy sourdough starter. Made of clear borosilicate glass, the transparent jar lets you see your starter's movements and spot any bits of flour that should be mixed in. A soft silicone lid hugs the jar to keep contaminants out, with grooves to keep it secure while still letting gas out. Any dried bits of starter will flake off the lid when you squeeze it. Available in Pint or Quart, dots on the side of the jars indicate measurements. For Pint, 50ml and 100ml increments let you judge when your starter has doubled, and for Quart, these indicate 100ml and 200ml for larger starters. A silicone band lets you monitor how much your starter rises or set targets for where you want it to be. Designed to be easy to clean, the straight sides and flat bottom mean there are no crevices for the starter to collect or gunk up. Both jars can be used with the Goldie Warming Base, which can be purchased separately.
