- The iconic Staub Cast Iron Round Cocotte has been used by renowned chefs worldwide for decades. We love it for that huge bolognese, slow-cooking or even just boiling pasta (it gets back to boil very quickly after adding pasta). And its pretty much indestructible Staub have enhanced the natural heat retaining qualities of cast iron by using special, unique glazes and by adding a cover which has spikes on the inside. The condensation from the simmering dish will catch onto the spikes and fall back down continuously, creating an amazing, consistent self-basting cycle that brings out the wonderful flavours of your dish in the most intense way for truly outstanding food. This incredible cast iron is also extremely heavy duty and dishwasher safe. It diffuses heat as well as it retains it, so if you need to cool down your dish the cocotte can be simply placed in the fridge. The classic style handles and nickel knob on the lid mean the cocotte can easily be moved from the oven to the table. As well as providing stunning performance, the cocotte looks absolutely beautiful and will add a tremendous aesthetic to any kitchen or table. Available in black, red or grey. About The Brand

Staub

Staub hails from Alsace, France, a region world famous for its gastronomy. They specialise in cast iron and ceramic cookware for both home cooks and professionals, and are most well known for their iconic enamelled cast iron pots, or cocottes. What makes their cocottes different is the use of slightly textured black enamel, which lets cooks enjoy all the benefits of cast iron cookware, such as the high heat tolerance and retention, without the effort of seasoning or avoiding washing up liquid, which would normally cause cast iron to corrode. Their patented lids are ‘self-basting’, meaning they are designed to circulate liquids within the pot, preserving flavour and moisture. (In tests conducted after a cooking time of 55 minutes, 10% more moisture was found in a Staub cocotte than in competitive products.) Their extensive range of enamelled cast iron frying pans, griddles, fondue pots, tagines and more are similarly user-friendly.

Made in France, all Staub products combine traditional craftsmanship with state-of-the-art technology. During production, each piece of cookware is inspected visually or technically 100 times to ensure that their strict quality standards are met.
